New Member Grant

Any club in its first year of membership with Theatre Saskatchewan Inc. can apply for a $300.00 New Member Grant. The purpose is to help new clubs get started on a production. An eligible New Member Group will have had no prior membership in Theatre Saskatchewan Inc. Funding is available only in the first two years of membership. Should a new member apply and be denied in the first year, the member may re-apply in the second year of membership.

Travel Consultant Grant

This Travel Consultant Grant was designed to encourage voting member clubs to bring in facilitators to help their club with their production or a specific workshop. Depending on the distance that the facilitator has to travel to the workshop, Theatre Saskatchewan Inc. will decide on the grant amount up to $300.

Theatrical Development Bursary
** Available for Members only
Theatre Saskatchewan Inc. has established the Theatrical Development Bursary to assist club members with the cost of travel, accommodations and registration fees related to Theatrical Workshops. i.e. weekend workshops or day workshops. Applicants for this bursary must belong to a member club in good standing. Applicants cannot receive more than one bursary in a twelve(12) month period. The Theatrical Development Bursary will be issued up to the maximum of $200.00 per person per year.
Production Grant
Deadlines: Annually, February 15 and September 15

To encourage voting member groups, in good standing, to purchase or upgrade removable material investments thus increasing production values. This excludes costs associated with building or renovating a community structure not owned by the group. Any voting member club in good standing can apply for a Production Grant to assist with material investments in a company such as lighting equipment, sound equipment, special effect items, etc. The items must be proven to be beneficial for more than one production. Amount can vary up to $2000.00. Available to members who have successfully completed their first year of membership.
Available every third (3) year.
Veteran Member Grant
Deadlines: Annually, February 15 and September 15

The Veteran Member Grant is available to encourage continuous voting member club involvement as well as to recognize long-term commitment. Funds will be reserved for voting member clubs in good standing. This grant excludes expenses associated with building or renovating a community structure and premises not owned by the member club. Clubs having the continuous voting membership are eligible for the following Veteran Member Grants:
- 10 to 19 years up to $2,500.00
- 20 + years up to $5,000.00
An eligible club may receive a Veteran Member grant only once every five years.
Once a voting member club receives a Veteran Member grant that member club can not receive a Production grant in the same fiscal year.
Community Partnership Grant
Deadlines: Annually, February 15 and September 15
The Community Partnership Grant has been established to encourage club members to partner with non-member, non-profit groups. Eligible projects include production cost assistance, theatre skills development, and special theatrical projects. This excludes expenses associated with building or renovating a fixed structure. A member group may receive funding of up to $1,000, depending on the number of participants, other partnerships, and the scope of the project.
An eligible club may receive a Community Partnership grant only once every three years.
Mary Ellen Burgess Scholarship
Deadlines: Annually, February 15 and September 15
To be eligible for the Mary Ellen Burgess Scholarship, the applicant must be a member of an active group that is a current voting member of Theatre Saskatchewan Inc.The scholarship must be used for education in the field of theatre; either through a postsecondary institution or recognized theatre schools (Globe School and Persephone School) that will provide for personal development of the individual, as well as for the development of the club submitting the application. If possible, the subject matter of the training, sponsor, dates, etc. should be stated. If the training cost and dates are not provided, contact information of the training facility must be given to verify the training cost and dates.
The recipient will be encouraged to conduct a workshop for the sponsoring club and, if suitable arrangements can be made, for any other member club. The Board will assess the applications and select a recipient if applicable and acceptable. The amount awarded will be determined by the amount requested UP TO A MAXIMUM of $500. More than one recipient may be awarded at the discretion of the Theatre Saskatchewan Inc. Board.
